The same day began once again,

A little chaos everywhere,

A little uncertainty in the air,

What's to lose, I ask once again;

I thought we knew what the day brings,

The boss shouting at the tv screen,

Remembering the messes I were to clean,

Just when it turned out, this day wasn't what it seemed;

With fire and agony,

Fell apart an entire country's peace,

Left the civils at the foot of the police,

And the hearts of some at ease;

It was just an ordinary day,

The fate of a country changed,

Because 19 of them were left estranged,

4 attacks that ensured, it was never to remain the same;

Has terror become a part of growth,

Or maybe just a source of hope;

Just as how it wasn't enough to call out Britishers back in the day,

It will never be enough to slap Islam with terrorism today;

If I can stop one mother from abandoning her child,

If I can stop one criminal from committing a crime,

I’d take a vow with my own blood,

To ensure today wouldn't be just an ordinary day.

It has been 20 years since one of the worst civilian attack in the history of humanity. An attack that still aches many hearts and constantly reminds us of the vulnerability that common lives hold. After 2 decades, the war still goes on. With the rising tension due to Taliban, the question stands, are we writing our own death in the name of religion, power and hunger?
