Social Evils of Society

The words of first Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, are very close to my heart-

"So kyon Manda aakhiye, jit jamme mein Rajaan"

He believed that men and women are equal and women cannot be considered inferior. (why call her bad? From her Kings are born)

With an aim towards women empowerment, gender disparity should be eradicated. Gender inequality is differentiation between people on the basis of gender. For ages now, a clear demarcation has been made in women's ability to do certain tasks, questioning their strength, capability and even leadership skills, etc. This definitely has an adverse impact on developmental goals as it slows down economic growth. This also leads society towards medieval era, with an orthodox view.

Today's youth are the changemakers, who can create a world of equality and justice. They have to act as the protagonists who can lead the way by spreading awareness, creating opportunities for women both in education and in employment. A spirit of contribution through social work can be great impetus in bringing about this transformation.
